This General Accounting Office report on Federal Prison Industries focuses on the FPI's failure to collect and use customer satisfaction data in its effort to provide competitive timeliness, price, and quality of its products and services. Without this information, FPI is not in a position to demonstrate whether it is achieving customer satisfaction as it is striving to do or to use customer satisfaction as a key performance measure.
