The ability of agencies to share information on an interagency, interjurisdictional, or multijurisdictional level can be greatly improved through an integrated justice information system. This symposium addressed the opportunities, challenges, and solutions facing justice system integration. Presentations include: improved criminal justice through information-sharing -- Office of Justice Programs' Justice Integration Initiative; integrated justice information systems planning and implementation -- organizing for a change; creating a community of value around criminal justice -- digital strategies for funding integration efforts; technology issues and challenges; managing the integrated system for the long term; criminal justice information privacy; and securing the integrated Kansas Criminal Justice Information System.
