The three papers presented in this document include: "The Financial Activity of a Modern American Street Gang" by Sudhir Ven Katesh; "The Ethnographic Approach to Studying Drug Crime" by Richard Curtis; and "A Police Chief's View: A Response" by Charles H. Ramsey. The first two papers are addressed from an ethnographic perspective, with the last paper supporting the caution made regarding facile generalization. Even though there may be an overall drop in crime, drug trafficking and gang crime can still be a persistent problem for local jurisdictions. Accession Number: 015709
