Evaluation of Oklahoma Drug Courts, 1997-2000

A Phase II evaluation of drug courts in Tulsa, Creek, Oklahoma, Pontotoc, Seminole, Pottawatomie, and McClain counties is provided. Drug court participants were adult non-violent felony offenders with substance abuse histories. Following an executive summary, this report addresses: statewide comparisons between the first and second cohorts and the total drug court clientele; current convictions; statewide selected variables; recidivism; retention rates; comparisons between graduates and terminations; drug of choice; relapse information; causes and sanctions; and conclusions and recommendations. Drug court graduates had a 2-year re-arrest rate of 14% compared to a nonparticipant rate of 22%. Accession Number: 017029
