Advanced Graduated Sanctions [Participant's Manual]

The development of an advanced graduated sanctions system for juveniles is covered during this 16-hour course. The following sessions are included: graduated sanctions; introduction to scenarios and team assignments; team building exercise; resource assessment and development; team time 1 -- gap analysis; assessment and classification; team time 2 -- developing an assessment process; team time 3 -- readiness assessment; developing school-based sanctions; programs and practices -- in-depth discussion of strategies; team time 4 -- selecting model programs; developing offender- and culture-specific sanctions and interventions; the role of the judge in graduated sanctions; developing a system of graduated sanctions, memorandums of understanding, and procedures; and team time 6 -- putting it all together.
