Factors Influencing Release and Bail Decisions in New York City: Part 3. Cross-Borough Analysis. Final report

Factors that impact decisions regarding release and bail at arraignment are examined. Six sections follow an executive summary: introduction; ROR (release on recognizance) decisions; bail amount decisions; prosecutors' bail requests; agreement among prosecutor, CJA (NYC Criminal Justice Agency), and judge; and conclusions and discussion. While the prosecutor's bail request was the factor that influence ROR and bail amounts most, it was also the only factor of import affecting the amount of bail set. Accession Number: 019909
