The Evaluation of the Restriction on Bail Pilots: Implementation Lessons from the First Six Months

Restriction on Bail (RoB) "requires defendants who are charged with trigger offences who test positive for a specified Class A drug to undergo a drug assessment and participate in follow-up which may include treatment if it can be established that heir offending is drug-related" (p. v). Five sections follow an executive summary: introduction; the RoB process; the use of RoB; implementation issues; and conclusions and recommendations. While 85% of defendants attended their drug assessment, 22% breached bail with RoB. Accession Number: 020732
