Quantitative Analysis of Disparities in Juvenile Delinquency Referrals

The extent of disproportionate minority contact for Anchorage youth in the Alaska juvenile justice system is examined. Sections of this report include: executive summary; quantitative analysis of disparities in juvenile delinquency referrals; sample and data; analysis; results according to racial, ethnic, and gender composition of referred youth, disproportionate minority contact in Anchorage, rates of referral by census tract, and disproportionate minority contact by census tract; and summary and conclusions. While only 34% of the juvenile population in Anchorage is minority, 61% of those youth referred are minority. Accession Number: 022305
